I am Andreas and here are a few bullet points about me:

I grew up in π¬π· Greece, enjoyed π³π΄ Norway for 5 months and Iβve been experiencing π¬π§ the UK for the past 7 years.
I currently work as a machine learning engineer for a π― food delivery company in London.
Before that π, I studied chemical engineering in Athens and interned in two oil refineries.
I have fulfilled my 9-month long compulsory πͺ military service (mostly as a chemist in a lab π€«).
I enjoy deep conversations about abstract ideas and get excited when people break my mental models π€―.
I care deeply about understanding first-principles π±.

Why I started this blog
The goal of this blog is to document the gist of the content I consume and feel could be useful for both my future self and other people.
How it happened
I really do like it when I have a fairly strong view on a subject and then someone comes with a completely different point of view and crashes my beliefs. This usually happens to me when meeting new people or when I read a good book.
As a result, over time, I started reading more and more. But after some time, I would forget what I had read. So I started taking notes. Then, I figured that I could share my notes to hopefully help you:
see a different perspective of the text you read, while reading the book
refresh your memory about the core ideas of a book you have already read
help you decide whether to invest your time in reading a book or not
Code of Conduct
When writing a piece of content, I optimise for the reader to receive the maximum useful information in the shortest amount of time. To achieve that, I summarise the content at different granularities. Then, the reader can decide how detailed of a summary they want to read.
For example, for book summaries you can read:
the full chapter-by-chapter summary
just the bold text in the chapter-by-chapter summary (yes, I have designed it so that when you read only what is in bold it will make sense)
the 1-page summary
I see β³ time as one of the most important commodities we all have and therefore I aggressively try to respect both mine and π«΅ yours.
To the best of my ability, I wonβt generate content fillers or click-bait titles. If you feel I do, please do let me know.
